Grace ~ Have favor on me O'God

Do I deserve it?

Can I earn it?

Grace: Theology

  • Freely given, unmerited favor and love of God.
  • The influence or spirit of God operating in humans to regenerate or strengthen them.
  • A virtue or excellence of divine origin: the Christian graces.
  • Also called state of grace.
    • The condition of being in God's favor or one of the elect.
No, I can only accept it.

God showers us with his Grace and by faith we can receive it.

Hebrews 11:6 (New Living Translation)

it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Faith:

Confidence or trust in a person or thing
Belief that is not based on proof: He had faith in God, Father of creation.

 Rewards:

Something given or received in return for service, merit, hardship, etc.

Seek:  Sincerely with all your heart

To go in search or quest of: to seek the truth.
To try to find or discover by searching or questioning
To try to obtain
To go to: to seek a place to rest.

It’s that simple….have faith, sincerely seek Him and he will reward me!

·         Write your statement of faith today_________________________
·         Sincerely seek Him by setting an appointment to meet with him, read your Bible and pray and ask God to rain favor over your life, your family and those around you.
·         Open your hands and receive the amazing promises and gifts He has for you.

Read Romans 8:31-39 slowly and praise God for choosing you.

(New Living Translation)

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sing Amazing Grace and draw near to Him who loves you.
Amazing Grace Lyrics by John Newton

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares...
we have already come.
T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...
and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
a life of joy and peace.
When we've been here ten thousand years...
bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise...
then when we've first begun.

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me....
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
